Life is All About Balance

Let’s face it, life can get hectic especially in the summer months when the kids are off from school and we are having to navigate our work-life balance. At Skater’s Quest, we are here to help your balance both literally and figuratively.

In order to be a better overall skater, you should always be working on your balance – on and off skates. You have so many opportunities throughout your day to work on your balance. We recommend that you hold in your core (suck in that stomach) and stand on one foot as much as possible – while in line at the grocery store, brushing your teeth, drying your hair, shaving, washing the dishes, etc. The practice possibilities are endless.

We also recommend that you schedule time for a stress relieving, outdoor skating lesson. Our lesson location at Jones Point Park is under the Woodrow Wilson Bridge so we skate in the shade and there is always a breeze coming from the river. Ahhhh.

Here are some classes that we have coming up for all ages and ability levels to help you take a healthy break and create balance:

Sunday, July 15th at 10:00 AM

Beginner 2 (B2) Group Lesson – Skills Taught: Forward Swizzle, Grass Stop, Parallel Turns

Saturday, July 22nd at 8:45 AM

Stopping Group Lesson – Learn and practice multiple stopping skills such as Grass Stop, Spin Stop, T-Stop, & Lunge Stop. If time permits, we will even introduce Power Slides!

Saturday, July 22nd at 10:00 AM

FREE Learn to Inline Skate Clinic – You will learn the basics of inline skating including the proper use of your protective gear, how to get moving and how to use that heel brake to stop. Supervised practice time is built in. This program is perfect for those who have never tried inline skating or for those that would like to get back to the basics. Take a test drive in Rollerblade brand skates and protective gear. You read correctly, this lesson is completely FREE!

Power Skating 1 (PWR1) Group Lesson – Increase the power of your skating. We will focus on the Ampersand Glide and Fall phases of the Forward Push. This lesson (and Session) is for skaters who need to practice what they have learned in the Eddy Matzger Workshop and/or have already taken our Trail 1 (T1) Group Lesson.

As a reminder, our Group Lessons prices are:
$25 for 1, $45 for 2, $65 for 3, $85 for 4, and $100 for 5
